Recipe of the Week

Favorite Recipe

Each week the staff of Coffee and Tea Time will highlight a favorite recipe. Sometimes the recipe will be for a beverage or food that uses coffee or tea as a key ingredient. Other times it will be a recipe that even though it does not use coffee or tea we just have to share.

To celebrate our new section on waffle makers also called wafflers we are excited to share our favorite waffle recipe. We like them served with fresh strawberries and a light dusting of powdered sugar.

Waffle Recipe

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups flour (all purpose or whole wheat)
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 3/4 cup milk (any type)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Turn on and preheat waffle iron.

In large bowl beat eggs until fluffy. A whisk or hand beater is fine to use. Add remaining ingredients and beat until smooth.

Pour about 1/2-2/3 cup batter into center of waffle iron (if using the waffler for the first time check manufacturer's guideline for amount). It will take about 5 minutes to bake.

Remove waffle and serve. Top with fresh berries or a little whipped cream or serve with butter and syrup to taste.
